The Day Before

I don’t have anything particularly exciting to report today. Went to my morning workout with Sarnowski. My 10 O’clock and my 11 and my 1 O’clock, all rescheduled. So that leaves only my 3, 4, 6, and 7. Yes, lots of meetings today. They’re all related to music or the business of music in some way.

The site will soon be able to facilitate digital downloads again, so that you can purchase songs directly.

Yes, I’m going to start selling music. I’ve been giving it away all this time, and I think that was like the free samples that allowed me to get feedback on your product and quality and to make changes while listening to my customers’ opinions. What we’re in the process of making at the studio right now is a recording  that’s ready for sale, Sit For A While. So starting in November, we’ll have music for sale right here on this site, and video soon to follow.

I feel relaxed physically, but I can’t deny that my mind is nervous about tomorrow. It’s a good song, we have a great producer, the Tribe laid out an awesome instrumental track! So really, now it comes down to the vocal that I deliver tomorrow at 6:30pm. All the other variables are removed and I either deliver or not. I am going to deliver. And I hope I’ll have help. I’m inviting whomever wishes to come and be a part of the studio audience for the vocal tracking tomorrow evening. The address is 321 NE Third Street, McMinnville OR 97128. If you do come, the entrance is behind the building from the parking lot, so you could just approach from 4th street. Text me when you arrive and someone will let you in that entrance. It’s the sort of situation where you’ll have to be a quiet audience so that the mics don’t pick up chatter or laughter, but seeing you there will certainly help my heart.

I know 29 of you who like this song. I’m referring to my backers from Kickstarter. And I know another 40 or 50 of you who like this song, those of you who have told me so after various performances around Willamette Valley. And I’m hoping there will be a bunch of other people out there in the big wide world who like this song enough to download it for 99 cents.

Bottomline, that depends on me laying a magic vocal tomorrow. You can pray, or you can show up, or you can do both.

Basically, this is what goes through my mind on the day before.
