Give Me Love
I am pleased to announce that we have secured a wonderful venue for the 2nd Annual Give Me Love Fundraiser Event!
Additionally, we have an excellent band, comprised of the HUMLIE TRIO, joined by three of Joshua’s bandmates from his big-band ensemble, and your’s truly. The first hour will be live music for swing dancing and the second hour will be a recorded mix of contemporary pop favorites (what songs would you like to dance to?)
We have a swing dance instructor, Dante Zapata, who will be on the dance floor demonstrating basic swing dance steps, and teaching any who wish to learn, while the band plays.
A fabulous local winery will be getting back to us shortly about donating wine for the event.
Our caterer from last year, Janelle Savage, will be returning to grace our tables and enchant our palates.
It is my dream that we can dream together. Here’s what I mean by that.
The venue that I’m so excited about is 9000 square feet of blank canvas at 146 S. Bridge Street in Sheridan. It used to be Jim’s Trading Post. I will shortly have key access to the building and what I’d like is for you to stop by (make an appointment with me if you want to do this) and imagine with me what we can create in that space for February 12th and beyond. I want to see painters painting, sculptor sculpting, dreamers dreaming, photogs photographing, you get the picture…
Proceeds from this magical night will go to a very worthy cause, the support of missionaries Dan and Regina Bumstead and their team at www.lovesdoor.org. So help us sell tickets, because every ticket we sell sends more dollars to Zambia to bless these amazing people who have put their lives on the line, “loving the least and the lost!”
When you purchase, your name will be added to our guest list. You may, if you wish, retain your email receipt for your own records as proof of purchase. As long as you are on the guest list, you will not need a physical ticket to enjoy the event.
2/10/12 UPDATE: Ticket sales are closed online as of today. So far we have sold 94 tickets and I promised the caterer is preparing for 98 attendees, so there are 4 spots still left. The remaining tickets can be purchased through Mora at Slow Train. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make this event a success!! See you there!

I’m looking forward to taking lots of pictures at this fabulous event.
So glad to hear it!! It will be a night to remember. We’d love to have Memory-Catchers on hand.
Nice poster!
I like the part about having the dance instructor. I will see if I can juggle work schedule to be at this renown event for the worthy cause!
Thanks! More learning curves. Learned how to merge photos last night about 2 in the morning. Would be wonderful if you can be a part of it. I am glad Dante agreed to help us dance. Maybe some people might get out there who wouldn’t have otherwise…
Wow! that’s impressive! You are multi-talented now!!
Good touch Lennox. Wish I could be there to enjoy the dance lessons – but will be doing my own dancing with my bride of 37 years, here in Zambia. GO SWING!
Hi Dan & Regina! Wish you guys could be here too, but also wish we could be there!! All in the right time. Tammy had a suggestion of setting up a live video stream online during the event so that you could see what’s happening here and some of us could chat with you as well. So I’m going to see what I can learn about that technology and hopefully we can spend at least a few moments together that evening. Happy Anniversary to you guys!!! Love you!
Video streaming online during the event would be nice; does it cost anything extra?
I don’t have a good handle on that right now and this is going to be quite a battle to begin with. So I think for this year, we might have to forego that option. What I’m hearing is that the internet connection required would have to be super fast on both upload and download speeds and we don’t have someone on the team yet who could take that function and run with it…
Thanks for the info. I would imagine that the internet connection got to be fast. My IT guys said that there’re companies for hire that host online conferences and events. The microphones are also special ones that can pick up only wanted sounds and not all other noises.
Yes, It’s better to do that when you have some one in the team that is experienced enough to do it.
